The SCRIPS Program

The organization "Great Lake Scrip Center" acts on behalf of churches, school and other non-profit organization to purchase large amounts of gift certificates and prepaid cards from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip (prepaid cards or gift certificates) is purchased up front with cash, the participating retailsers offer a substantial discount. CEC buys the (prepaid cards or gift certificates) from the Great Lakes Scrip Center at the discount, and re-sells the certificates at full face value. The discount - 2 - 15% or more - is CEC's revenue. Scrip is a great fundraiser, easy to use, and helps to raises revenue for our church by making regular household purchases.
