Visitors - Welcome

It is our pleasure as the Clergy of Christ Church to welcome you on behalf of the congregation. Christ Church is a eucharistically centered community where we are loved and can love. We are open and accepting of all God's people. Our belief is that the Lord's Table is meant to unite us and not divide us; therefore, all those who are baptized are welcome to receive Holy Communion.

Christ Church is a parish of the Diocese of Atlanta and the Episcopal Church of the United States. The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion and our historical roots are found in the Church of England. The worship of the Episcopal Church is centered in the Book of Common Prayer. As Episcopalians, we try to achieve a balance between word and sacrament; therefore, scripture, preaching, community prayers and Holy Communion are essential tour worship.

A frequent question asked by people new to the Episcopal Church is, "what do you believe?" Our response often centers on the whole of the worship experience and what grows out of those sacramental times. The creeds of the church define apart of our belief and certainly our liturgy defines other parts of us. We don't all believe the same things. We tend to be a diverse denomination which trust individual wisdom and the Spirit's guidance to hassle through some of the most difficult of life's questions.

Christ Church is an active and alive parish. We hope you make this your spiritual home.

Faithfully,

The Rev. Doris Graf Smith, Rector
